CCSSM MATH CONTENT K.G.B4 . Analyze and compare two or three- dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences parts (e.g having sides of equal length)
CCSSM MATH CCONTENT K.G.B5 : Model shapes in the world by building shapes  from components (e.g  sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
CCSSM MATH CONTENT K.G.B6 . Compose simple shapes to form larger shapes.

Summary: This book is about a triangle that loves to do things as triangle , but one day he said to his friends "I am tired of doing the same thing everyday", So he went to the shapes shifter and told him, that if he had one more side. The shape shifter granted his wish and "poof" the triangle turned into a quadrilateral. Life was good for a while, he could do a lot of things , until one day , he became bored and wanted a change , and so the shape shifter did the same procedure  for all the times he came back to get another shape. So one day  things were just out of control, the shape having so many sides. So as usual he would go back and ask the shape shifter, this time  he ask if he could go back to his original shape which is a triangle. He was happy to be himself again, where he could be a sandwich , sailboat , roof and other things.

Rating***** This  book  is about a Greedy Triangle which  teaches about geometry and in particular shapes.  Students can learn about how shapes are everywhere and they can even use real things to make shape.

Classroom Ideas:  This book can be use to teach geometry in a kindergarten class in which they can use hands on material to learn about  shapes , the names of the shape, how one can use materials to make shape. The teacher can use  real life things and let students manipulate with it to see how they can make different shape from it  eg. a text book, sandwich

  1. I love the story that the author uses to teach the different shapes, it makes it really clear for students to see the change/difference between the shapes. It's also great that the shapes are used to reference the shapes of everyday objects that are familiar to the students.
